The Department of English conducted a One-Day Workshop on Communicative Language Teaching (C.L.T) skills for Teachers of English from Hindi medium Schools of the twin cities on 12 September 2006.

Mr. K.R Theophilus, Lecturer, co-ordinated the workshop under the chairmanship of Mr. P. Subramaniyam, Head of the Department. About 25 teachers from 15 schools attended the workshop.

Prof. Gopal Rao, Head, Department of English, Osmania University inaugurated the workshop and also delivered the key-note address, Dr. Shailbala, Principal, welcomed the gathering and Mr. P. Subramanyam spoke about the salient features of the workshop.

There were 4 sessions:

Shri. Surendra Luniya, Hon. President and Shri. Lakshminivas Sharma, Hon. Secretary, Hindi Mahavidyalaya Samithi graced the Valedictory Function. Shri. Lakshminivas Sharma delivered the valediction address and Shri. Surendra Luniya distributed the certificates to the participants.

Hindi Mahavidyalaya is proud to announce that Mr. K.R Theophilus, Lecturer, Department of English has been invited by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State to visit the United States to participate in a three week International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) on “ English Curriculum Development” – September 18-October 6, 2006.

Earlier Mr. Theophilus was one of the 22 lecturers selected by the Department of Collegiate Education, Govt. of Andhra Pradesh to attend the Trainees Workshop, under the Lecturers Retaining Program jointly sponsored by the Department of Collegiate Education and the U.S State Department.
